Product workflow

LocalizeASO has two connected surfaces:

  • The dashboard for App Store Connect apps, metadata, keywords, screenshot order, release notes, and pricing.
  • The Figma plugin for localizing screenshot frames and uploading localized screenshot assets.

The current product is not just a screenshot translation plugin. It is a workflow for keeping App Store metadata, screenshots, keywords, and App Store Connect updates aligned across locales.

Main flow

  1. Connect App Store Connect from the dashboard.
  2. Select the app you want to work on.
  3. Import ASO keywords for the app and its locales.
  4. Generate, update, or optimize metadata drafts.
  5. Localize screenshot frames in Figma.
  6. Upload screenshot assets to App Store Connect.
  7. Review screenshot order, release notes, and pricing.
  8. Push the reviewed changes.

What the dashboard manages

  • App Store Connect credentials and app selection.
  • Metadata fields per locale.
  • Drafts before publishing.
  • ASO keyword import, filtering, sorting, and preferred keyword flags.
  • Screenshot review and ordering by locale and device size.
  • Release notes.
  • Subscription and in-app purchase price localization.
  • Push jobs with progress and completion status.

What the Figma plugin manages

  • Selected screenshot frames.
  • Source and target languages.
  • Glossary terms and custom instructions.
  • App Store Connect locale import.
  • ASO keyword import into the screenshot translation prompt.
  • Generated localized frames.
  • Screenshot upload to App Store Connect.

App Store field limits

LocalizeASO validates App Store metadata against the current in-app limits used by the codebase:

FieldLimit
Title30 characters
Subtitle30 characters
Keywords100 characters
Promotional text170 characters
Description4000 characters
What’s new4000 characters
Release notes4000 characters

Locale coverage

The dashboard and plugin work with App Store locales such as en-US, de-DE, fr-FR, ja, ko, zh-Hans, and zh-Hant. Locale input is normalized, so imports can often resolve country names, country codes, language codes, and App Store locale codes.

Safe publishing model

Most write operations are staged or reviewable first:

  • Metadata is saved as drafts before pushing.
  • Push jobs expose status and per-locale results.
  • Screenshot ordering changes are local until pushed.
  • Pricing pushes are scheduled, tracked as jobs, and can overwrite existing scheduled prices when requested.
